Man, I am just completely overwhelmed. I feel now - even more than ever - that I do not have nearly enough equipment.
Susan was really sweet to let me follow her around and shoot around her. She taught me how to up the ISO on my camera to higher than 1600, and pushed me to shoot in only natural light unless it was completely dark. She actually shot with two cameras at a time - one around her neck and one hanging from her shoulder. She had me shooting with aperture-priority on, which I am pretty sure I screwed up on multiple times since I was just not used to doing it. The biggest thing, though, was that I shot in RAW the whole time! Score! Hopefully I will get some halfway-decent shots from the RAW ones, and I will be able to add them to my portfolio.
The wedding itself was awesome. I will post some portraits as soon as I can get some off of my camera (the RAW stuff isn't being recognized by my computer for some reason). It was a Chinese and American wedding, but the style was mostly Chinese. The first event was a tea ceremony, in which the bride and groom go around to their elders and serve them tea. The elders show their support by handing them gifts of money or jewelry. After the ceremony, the bride and groom got dressed at the church where the ceremony was. The ceremony was really neat - complete with dragon dance at the end. There was so much more, but I can't remember the names for everything! The bride and groom took formals at the Capitol after the ceremony, and then the reception was at a restaurant on Broadway. It was quite the party.
So, in conclusion, Susan is the master and I am quite overwhelmed at this point.
