I'm dying to do something crafty. Of course, now that the summer is over and school is starting next week and I won't have any free time. Oh well. This morning I got up at 7 am and got dressed and ready for work really quickly so I could continue reorganizing my woolies. Last night I brought in the plastic shelves I'd bought for Pennsic that now cannot be used because they are plastic. I washed the dust off and set them up in April's room which has now become my Wool and Fiber Arts Storage Unit. Eden still lives in the living room but having the shelves gives all my odd little bits someplace to live rather than on the floor in front of the window. My basket collection works as drawers on the shelves. I have one basket full of small tools, another holding fancy weaving yarn, another with wool in use. Also, I found a small binder to put import papers in. Now I have one binder only for knitting patterns and another for everything else - articles, receipts, newsletters, etc. On the top shelf I have piled up all of the wool packets. I stole Forba's idea of using an old sheet ripped into squares as containment vessels for small bunches of wool. Something else I need to do is make and attach tags to each so I remember what they are. That reminds me, I need to pay more attention to what type of wool I'm buying when they don't include a tag. Doing all this organizing is really fun. I feel better about having too much stuff when it isn't splayed all over the living room floor. Storage is so important! Plus, going through all of the totes everyone once in a while reminds me what I've got to play with.

There's a weaving project rolling around in my head. Before I use the really gorgeous stuff I got at Ursula's Alcove, I want to try the Palette from Knitpicks to see how it stands up to the loom. If it works it'll be a really great deal. $1.99 for 231 yards. I just hope it doesn't break or get too fluffy. Once I decide pattern and length, I can get started on measuring the warp. Awesome!
