a bit of fluff and lots of Pennsic talk.

Why is it that every time I drink an herbal tea I get a stomach ache? Additionally, why do I keep trying stupid spacey remedies for things when history shows they do not work? I still think I am made of plastic and impermeable.

Last night I saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It gave me a very uneasy feeling. and EVERYBODY DIED!!!! No. 4 is still my favorite, regardless of what you nay-sayers who read the book say. :P

I keep trying to figure out what I have going on this weekend. As far as I can tell, nothing. Nothing, nothing, nothing? tra-la-la? So I suppose I should use it as an opportunity to get my poop in a pile as far as Pennsic goes. I emptied my plastic tote finally, but discovered it contained lots of towels, lots of handouts from last year, and lots of clothes I never wear. Washed the towels, hung up the clothes, and stashed the papers in the pile of handouts I'll-keep-but-will-forget-about-and-never-look-at-again. I decided last year I am NOT taking garb that:
(1) is actually a man's tunic - yes, i have a small collection of men's tunics
(2) I have never worn
(3) is a mess and good only for spontaneous mud wrestling
(4) is left over from my early days of garb-making and is rather embarrassing and not period
(5) takes up too much space and is so silly I will never wear it
Despite this, I still plan on taking 14 dresses; 4 white chemises and 3 color chemises; 3 veils; a straw hat; a hood; a cloak; an apron; 2 pairs of shoes; and other misc. small items. I'm curious to see how it will pack up.

No whistles or flutes or strange useless projects. I'm taking my fingerless mitt yarn and needles (4 pairs done already!); a sewing kit; 3 drop spindles and some spinning wool. I wish I had gotten an embroidery project going - maybe I'll do that this weekend. My dresses need some embellishment around the neck and sleeves. I could also shop for trim and possibly attach it whilst at Pennsic.

I'll need feast gear: plate, bowl, mug and cup, silverwear. Perhaps I could stash that in the kitchen box. I also should go make sure my stove is intact. The poor thing was roughly jammed into a too-small space last year during packing. No large green dish drainer, no plastic shelves, no plastic table. I'll have a nice sized kitchen with a lovely green kitchen box - shelves and drawers! My men have been working so hard on my behalf. I suppose the least I could do is make them dinner.

We received our land allotments - N30 this year, a new block. It's going to be exciting and scary. There are 7 groups in that block, I think. I hope we can all get along. I hope they don't put us in some crappy hole.
