1. I have decided to be less nervous about September. Shan't bore you with the details, but I just am doing that as it's high time I got on the good foot, and stopped being such a scaredy cat.
2. We went to Wales on Friday, and got back last night. It was very good. I often find that just the physical driving 'away' from the house, London, paper with lists on, and the usual surroundings, can make all of the inside of my head reconfigure. That, and listening to 'To be alone with you' from 'Nashville Skyline' about 50 times in a row whilst driving in the sunshine holding hands with my favorite human.
3. NEXT Friday, we are going to Nice, and will walk around doing even more hand holding, for 10 whole short days. (I know they will be shorter than normal days as I will want them to last longer.)
4. Tonight (huge sigh of dread) I have to go and see "Les Miserables'. Because one of my pupils is the main little boy person in it, and has been for months, and I promised I would go, and he's nearly too tall to be in it for much longer, so I have to go. I considered taking my ipod to wear throughout, but Gemma said it might disturb the people next to us-fair point, but only just. I don't mind some musicals, and love the idea of the theatre, but Les Miserables is my idea of a living hell. I know this, as I went to see it when I was younger and it was new, and even my teenage allowance for a tiny bit more in the earnest department, rejected it utterly. But my boy is great, and in his music lessons we have a brilliant time, so it's worth the 2-3 hours of audio visual torture, just to stand at the stage door and whoop at him afterwards. It is SO expensive I cannot even discuss it.
5. This week is 2 days of writing magazine crap and learning about Tudor music and starting my musical timeline for my 'display' (I really wish you could see my display, it is magic so far and I've only just started it-the staple gun has become a firm friend) .. followed by 3 days in the studio for some more mixing, and a bit of recording as I have written a new song, and want to see how it develops.
