So, recently there was the Longleat Ghost Tour (needs some work), Expo & EuroCosplay (let's not go there right now), and Distant Worlds (really enjoyable).
As ever I tend to look to the future though, and I'm looking right now at a non-anime-convention break in March. You may have something else planned, or not have the spare leave / cash / slightest inclination / will to travel that far... but we've enjoyed this for the last couple of years and it is a 'the more the merrier' affair.
It is a long weekend (Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th March 2012) in Devon during the unpopular time of year (which means lower prices, fewer people especially families ^_^ ) at a pair of hotels which have various crafts and activities. We tend to do archery, air rifles and air pistols; snooker and pool; swimming, hot tubs and saunas; bowling; walking on the moors; board and card games; and the odd movie. There is lots of other things too, we just know what we like and there's never enough hours in the day.
Three nights including meals will come to a bit under £200. Meals will be dinner on the first day and breakfast on the last, and three full meals on the two in between days. Its not fine cuisine but good solid food, we've never had a complaint about the variety, quality or quantity. The rooms are nothing special, but we found ourselves so tired when we eventually go back to them that it did not matter.
We're making bookings around now- I meant to ask around sooner but Expo kicked the crap out of me. Let us know if you fancy it or have questions, or ignore it as you wish :P This is not meant to be an exclusive invitation either if there's anyone else, we have about ten people usually.
