It's been a month and a half since I posted. Whoa!

I've read through all my friends posts. To those who got replies from me, like, three weeks after you posted -- sorry! I do read everything each of you posts. To cherith and darkpriestss, I read yours too, even though I don't comment often. I've missed you all!

Um. What's been happening here? Work, play, summer -- at friggin' last! Winter started in OC-FREAKIN-TOBER and summer just arrived with any seriousness last week. (Temps in the high 70s low 80s.) I've been saying that's nine months. We've given birth to a baby summer. (It doesn't last long.) I can console myself with the idea that maybe my beloved Montana won't be on fire by the 4th of July like it was last year.

I planted my garden last Saturday. I was actually berating myself the weekend before because I still hadn't planted, but then it SNOWED that -- oh, Tuesday or something -- and those who had already planted lost some of their stuff. So, maybe I'll have carrots and zucchini and so on into September. I also brought out the patio furniture from the quonset hut last weekend, too.

We planted several aspens last fall, and the last one finally started leafing out this week. I was worried about it! They sing, "shwoo, shwoo" in the wind, just like the poplars do. It's so relaxing. I sit out on the stoop, under my solar powered, lighted umbrella (very neat!) and have a beverage and listen to the trees and birds in the evening. Ah, the happy! Speaking of The Happy. It's supposed to be in the 90s on Saturday, so we're going to try and take The Happy to Flathead or Salmon Lake. We'll see.

The piano lessons are going well. I am obsessed with waltzes, because they actually sound like real songs when you play them on the piano, even as a beginner. I am getting a little intimidated, as the music is getting more complex, and my fingers don't always understand what I want them to do. (I wanna be friggin' Tori Amos, and I want it NOW!) I do enjoy it, though. And, I'm staving off Alzheimer's by building new neural pathways.

Anyway. That's it. Oh -- wait! I did have a buzz cut two weeks ago. I'll try to get a photo soon, before it grows out. Although, I plan on keeping it like this through the summer. (Half-inch attachment on the clippers.)
