granitedragon Well, we've been looking for 2 new vehicles, and here is number one. Iddun he pretty? (Yes, I'm fairly sure he's a boy.) Please excuse the kindergarten photoshop on the license plate. We just got him today, and he still has plates from the previous owner.
Next will be to find one for me. I'm thinking a Toyota Tacoma. Jet wants to feel the wind in her hair.
On a divergent note, Missoula has had record highs -- 107* yesterday. Hubs of Hades, I tell you. I spend a lot of time dragging hose around. No, that is NOT a euphemism. I've been dragging hose all over the yard to water trees. Between last year and this year, we have about 65 very young trees to water, plus the garden. I'm hoping we don't bleed the well dry. Yikes!
I hope everyone had a lovely 4th of July. I agree with
cherith. It is quite nice to have the week broken up that way. We took Bil's two (almost) step daughters (they're his fiancee's girls) to Salmon Lake, about an hour away. We got a place right by the water, without a lot of people around. It was a camp site, but since there were only about 5 people in the whole camping area, the rangers let us rent it for the day, which is something they won't normally do, as camp sites are NOT available for day use. Anyway, the main beach was crowded, but our little cove was not so bad. Salmon Lake is small, so there was a fair amount of traffic on the lake itself. We used the inner tubes and the floatie and ate chicken and cherries. It was a good day. Good evening with fireworks as well.
It was quite exciting at about 11:30 PM, when a nice, big brush or grass fire broke out on the hill across the freeway. We could see two fire truck lights flashing right next to the fire, and they had it under control in only about 10 minutes, so we're pretty sure it was grass and not anyone's structural property. Thankfully. Fun to watch, though.
Anyhow. That's about it here. Hope you are all well.
