The knock on the door startled Severus. He had expected no visitors today. For that matter, few if anyone visited.
As he opened the door, he was blinded bright white light. He covered his eyes. He could see a crowd of people on his doorstep holding cameras, brooms and dust mops.
Two neatly dressed ladies led the group into Severus’ home. One was short with neatly bobbed hair and wearing rimless glasses. The other stood rigidly, her hair pulled severely into a tight bun.
“Professor,” the shorter one chirped. “We’re Kim and Aggie. We’re here to see how clean is your house.”

“Oh my God,” Aggie screeched as she entered. “When was the last time this room was cleaned up?”
“Mother did it for the Yule holiday,” Severus answered. “Once.”
“I see you still have the mistletoe,” Kim sniffed holding up a petrified branch.
“That is greenbirch,” Severus cried snatching it from her. “A very important ingredient in several potions.”
“Indeed,” she sniffed. She turned her attention to the drapes which she thumped soundly sending a cascade of dust into the air.
“How did you find me?” Severus asked grabbing a vial from Aggie.
“Your friend Hermione asked us to come by.”
“Granger,” Severus seethed.

For two days the team scrubbed and cleaned Severus’ humble home. He endured the pair’s shaming attitude and pushy ways as they organized, de-cluttered and sanitized each room. He vainly tried to stop them from tossing out papers, boxes of notes, and the contents of his fridge.
“Nonsense, Professor,” Kim admonished him. “A great intelligent man like yourself, allowing this house to fester into a mess. How will you ever attract a young lady to visit? Like that nice Hermione Granger. I can’t see her wanting to sit in such a disaster.”
“She may never get an invitation again,” Severus fumed.

At the end of their stay, Severus had to admit it was cleaner, although he was not happy at their attempt to arrange his library and potions ingredients. However, arguing with these two was useless. Few wizards and no Muggles could fend off these demons with dusters.
“We’ll be back in two weeks to check up on you,” Aggie shouted. “You can be proud to have female company now, like that nice Hermione.”
Severus drew his wand and placed a forget-me charm on the two as they left.
“That should keep those two away,“ he thought. “Now, to deal with Hermione.”
