The Dark Lord, swept out of the Shack, Nagini following in his wake. Severus was left for dead.

Suppressing a moan, Severus attempted to sit up, but within moments a small pair of hands gently pushed him back down. He looked around in alarm, yet the sight that met him was the most calming he had seen in a long time. Hermione Granger, with her wild hair, was rummaging around in a small beaded bag before finally pulling out a small navy pouch. Breathing heavily, he reached for her hand. He could feel the end approaching, the nothingness was imminent.

The cold hand covering hers startled her from her internal debate - to use the bezoar or to give the Professor a general medicinary potion. Not knowing what type of snake Nagini was made it all the more difficult for her to work out what to use.

Hermione looked over at the Professor. He looked tired and worn, as though all he wanted was for it to end. She, however, felt he deserved better than to die alone. He wouldn't die at all , not if she had anything to say about it.

Without a thought she handed him the bezoar.

He stared at it in confusion momentarily, before the realisation kicked in. He slowly lifted it to his mouth and swallowed, coughing a few times as it slowly made its way to his stomach.

Hermione's hands were clutching her bag, her knuckles white with anxiety. Mentally, she was second-guessing and berating herself for not using the potion.

After a few minutes, the colour on Severus' face began to return; the act of keeping his eyes open and fixed on Hermione wasn't such a task. The bezoar was working. He was too weak to move off the floor, but he was alive.
