With pain searing up her right leg Hermione drew herself to her full height, glaring as she did so. She slapped him across the cheek, leaving a biting sting on his face. Touching the mark that she left he chuckled slowly, sending chills down her spine as he flicked his wand towards her. Nothing could have prepared Hermione for the cruciatus that came her way, she could almost feel the baby crying as she wreathed and moaned on the floor, much to the delight of the onlooking Death Eaters. She knew he was coming, screaming Severus’ name in her pain.

“That was very unwise dear one .Once you have calmed down I have a proposition for you, you may continue to wreath and burn in the filth you have created; or you can accept what Severus has; make a home with us. Remember, I do not offer lightly, nor do I offer twice.”
“Severus would never do that, he loves me”
“What has his love for you got to do with anything here miss Granger?”
“It’s Mrs Snape and my heart lies with the Order; and his with it.”
“Use your brain Hermione! how do you think we found you?”

A first connected with Hermione’s swollen belly, making her scream on impact and involuntary shield it for the next one. Voldemort smirked at how to approach this new evidence. He could show her what Severus was, but he wanted her to promise the child. Lowering himself to her, he brushed her hair, soothing her in calming voices, while the prisoner nearby watched in horror, knowing what was about to take place.
