Hermione Flooed home frustrated and bitter, desperately needing brandy but finding the container empty.
"Damn it!" she yelled, hexing the bottle and frowning at Severus swallowing the last dram.
"Six months I worked on that experiment! I swear my co-workers sabotaged it, they are unforgivables on legs!" ranted Hermione.
"I would put more credence in incompetence than malice, Mrs. Snape," Severus counseled knowingly.
She burst into tears and embraced him for comfort. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't let my rotten day ruin our Anniversary," she mumbled hugging him close, until she felt his body go rigid.
"Severus, please don't tell me…."
