AN: This is not part of my series.. I just can't seem to get enough of this challenge. THis is my response to the ending of book 6.. I just reread dd's death and so turned my angst into this. *g* enjoy
Hermione crossed her arms tightly against the cold. He was gone. Her heart felt like it was freezing within her chest. Breathing was difficult, her breath kept hitching, but she wasn’t crying. She was too angry to cry. How could he have betrayed them all? She’s trusted him, loved him. She bit down fiercely on her traitorously trembling lip. It doesn’t matter, she told herself. I will leave Hogwarts with Harry. Severus will die at our hands. A silent tear tickled down her cheek. She wiped it away roughly. And I will be fine. She wished she could believe it.
