Hermione watched the steam curl sinuously above the hot water.
Picking through vials, jars and small drawstring bags she sprinkled and dripped, scrunched up dried leaves between her fingers and scattered other things across the surface. The oils were a barely visible sheen, and she smiled as she drew her fingers through the water, causing eddies.
Taking in a deep breath full of steam and delicate scents, Hermione smiled in satisfaction and proceeded to complete her ritual. Heaven. Her bliss was short-lived, however, as Severus stuck his head inside and commented 'Is that a bath, or Soup of the Day?
