Hermione caught a glimpse of her reflection as she walked past the mirror and let out a soul wrenching sob.
Severus rushed in, wanting to soothe her. “I wish there was a way I could help you,” he whispered to her as he rubbed her back, mindful of the bandages and not wanting to disturb the hair remaining on her head.
“I had to get the one Muggle disease with no magical cure,” Hermione sobbed. “I look nothing like the young woman you married. How can you love me when I look like this?”
“I see no difference.”
