Written several months ago, tweaked tonight when I got home after drinking a glass of wine.
"You said you'd never leave me," he said fixing her with desperate eyes.
"You said you would always stay beside me," he added, his voice slowly starting to break.
"You said you would help me through the bad times," he continued, a tear rolling down his cheek.
"You said you'd stay with me always," he pleaded through a barely audible whisper.
"Why couldn’t you keep your promise?" he concluded, tears running freely down his tired face.
He didn’t expect a reply and there wasn’t one.
Severus knelt, placed a single rose beside Hermione's photo before turning and leaving her grave.
