Of course, the first time she'd noticed was after his encounter with Fluffy. Harry saw he was limping. Hermione saw that his trouser leg was inexpertly mended.
She saw, but it took her years to observe. And when she did, she took up her needle.
He rarely accepted open demonstrations of affection, but she sometimes thought he was so careless with his clothes just so he could feel the fabric of her love on his skin.
