Authors Notes: This grabbed me by the throat and held my fingers to the keyboard!
Without the ineptitude of students such as the ‘great’ Neville Longbottom, or the inventiveness of students such as the Weasley twins, this book would never have come to light. I owe much to their simple inability to follow a set of instructions and produce the intended result.
I also wish to express my thanks to my beloved wife who, as the brightest witch of her era, often prevented many of these mishaps from becoming deadly; who, with her steadfast love, beat down my door and rescued me from my solitude, inflicting her lifelong companionship upon me.
