“You don't have to leave,” he said quietly, watching as she pulled her jumper back on over her head.
“He's my husband.”
“You could leave him. Isn't what we have worth that much to you? Aren't I worth that much?”
She hesitated, her back turned to him as she held her skirt in her hands. Slowly, she stepped into it as the silence stretched between them. He watched from the bed as she pulled her flats onto her feet, still refusing to turn and meet his eyes until her hand was on the doorknob.
“I'm sorry, Severus. But you're not.”
