Hermione frowned at the brochure that Severus carelessly dropped on the hall table that afternoon. She frowned when he said hello. She frowned at the carrots when she chopped them a little too viciously and sent one flying out the window into the garden.

She frowned at her dinner and avoided eye contact with Severus.

She frowned when he tried to ask her what was wrong. And she frowned when she had a shower and climbed into bed.

She frowned as Severus put on his glasses and picked up his novel. And frowned as she threw it on the floor.

Sighing, Severus glared at his wife. “Hermione, you can’t expect me to fix something if I don’t know what’s wrong.” He slowly took off his glasses and turned to face her in the bed.

“Do you have no respect for me, Severus?”

It was Severus’ turn to frown.

“Do you think what we have is a joke, something to be thrown away?”

“Hermione, what-“

“This!” She brandished the offending flyer in his face.

Severus blinked.

“I fail to see what this has to do with anything.” Severus stared at the brochure wondering how Hermione could possibly find a problem with it.

Hermione sighed and picked up his glasses from the bedspread beside her. “Do you not remember our first date?” Hermione looked earnestly into his eyes, forgetting to frown.

“Of course…”

“How I said I thought you looked... with these?” Hermione moved closer and put his glasses back to rest delicately upon his nose.

“I can’t count the number of times those have made me…well…” Hermione blushed and looked down at her ever increasing stomach.

Severus threw his head back and barked out a laugh. He shook his head. “Hermione, you’re impossible.” He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer.

“I had no idea these old things meant so much to you.”

Hermione nodded. “They do… They’re part of you. And I love you just the way you are.” Hermione leaned up and kissed the tip of his nose.

“Well, of course, I don’t want to disrespect my wife. If you’re that attached to them…” Severus sent the wadded up brochure sailing towards the bin and turned his full attention to his wife.
