Severus held Hermione tight against his heart. She was the one true light of his life.
For her he would do anything... well almost anything.
Hermione continued to attempt to pull him from his Dark pit of despair, but the red head still haunted his nights, and the lure of Dark magic was powerful, seductive and manipulative.
The Dark welcomed him, embraced him and loved him. When he cast a Dark spell the thrill that thrummed through his soul was empowering and all encompassing.
The Light used him, manipulated him to murder his mentor.
But for her, he would try.
