As Hermione watched Severus’s red-rimmed, puffy eyes, she felt a twinge of guilt. Maybe she shouldn’t have asked him. But did he have to make such a production out of his suffering? Sniffling loudly, blowing his nose three times in as many minutes, wiping his watering eyes on his sleeve….
She tried - unsuccessfully - not to grin.
He cast a doleful glance at her. “This is all your fault,” he grumbled thickly, accusingly.
“That it is,” she said with an unrepentant laugh, kissing a tear from his cheek. “But you know your French Onion Soup is the best in the country!”
