Dear GrangerSnape100-

Week 38 Results, Week 39 Challenge

The Order wins with 320, the DEs 70.

This week we had several serials running and an art post.

October is the time on GS100 for all those Halloween prompts!  As a reminder, all existing prompts are valid!  Some old examples include: Scream, Seedy Secondary Characters, Trick or Treat, Halloween Feast, Haunted House, Graveyard Visit, Epitaph, Monster under the Bed, Octoberfest, Pumpkin, When Ghosts Intervene.

This week's challenge:

I am combining two challenges this week.  The requests were for Masquerade by a Peacefulsleep and A Masked Ball requested by Bluestocking79.   I don’t think these challenges require explanation.  I could have sworn we did this challenge, but perhaps it was requested by so many folks I was under the impression we did.

”Masquerade challenge” is the tag for this challenge.

Mod Spam - ARCHIVE

Don't forget to archive your work at the GrangerSnape100 archive at the Petulant Poetess.  LJ stinks as a fic archive, and putting your work in a real archive will allow non GS100 members to enjoy them.  You will also get more and different reviews.

GS100 drabbles can be archived on OWL.  For Owl you load your drabbles under SS/HG and use a tags/identifiers:  Snape/Granger 100, Snapshot/Drabble.

Please note that OWL is moderated, so make sure your writing had been through a beta.

You can also post your drabbles to FFN as an independent post.  FFN has no categories for SS/HG or drabbles.

Mod Spam - Exchange

I am aware that quite a few members are involved with the SS/HG exchange.  The deadline for that is November.  I am opening posts here if you need to solicit betas or art critique.   Also, keep a separate backup file someplace besides your computer.  One method that works is email yourself different versions of your project, so if your PC craps outs you can get your file from any computer.  Another method is to use “chip drives” or “flash memory” to act as a non-PC based backup system.  Chip drives are portable and stable.

If you haven’t done it, now is the time to keep your PC running nice and clean by running a weekly registry clean and spy ware/virus scan, and disk defrag.  Artists, especially should use the defrag, since you are probably working with large image files.

Now you know how to protect your files.

Mod Spam- ART

We allow art on GS100 now based on the weekly challenges or posts to challenges.

Have fun,

Droxy
