mmmmmmm..... hob nobs *drools*

okay, so here's the deal.  i've been on a quest to find my favorite british cookies (hob nobs) because i've been having an ungodly craving for them for about a week.  i'd finally given up, after going to more than four grocery stores with no luck.  one store had a similar kind of cookie, but it just didn't hit the spot.  i'd even gone so far as to asking my dad if he knew where to find them in america, and he'd recommended rice village in houston.  as much as i love hob nobs, i didn't want to drive 3+ hours to go on a wild goose chase and not find them.  so i resigned myself to the sad truth that i may never find hob nobs in austin, let alone the united states.

then this afternoon, when travis and i got home from my doctor's appointment, we had a slip in our mailbox that said we'd gotten a package.  we were thinking it was our cribs we'd ordered (and then i got really pissed that they didn't do the in-home delivery i'd been told to expect, but that's a different story) so travis went to go get the package while i went inside to get some water.  then, my dear husband comes back with an oddly small box from my dad, and not the two huge boxes from pottery barn that i'd expected.  i busted open the box and there inside, lay the most beautiful thing i've ever seen.  well, maybe that's an exaggeration... but it was amazing.  my dad, when he was in houston earlier this week, had gone and found me two boxes of hob nobs and shipped them to me.

that first bite was the most satisfying thing i've eaten in weeks, maybe months.  the oaty biscuit crunched with a heavenly sound and the milk chocolate coating was so perfectly sweet... i think i had a foodgasm.  and now friends, i'm going to eat some more so i will end this post about my heavenly "oaty, nobbly biscuits" as they are described on their package so that i can stuff my face.  i wish you all pleasant eatings as well.  : )
