*deep breath* i will not stress...
soooooooooooooooooo, there's some wedding dress drama. here's the deal.
a little more than a month ago: i went to order my wedding dress and they said that with such late notice, it would be difficult but they'd make sure that my dress arrived in time for alterations. they did say, that it may come the week of the wedding, but they have a one day seamstress who can whip out a wedding dress in a crunch. we paid for the dress.
about two weeks ago: i went to the store to check on the status of my dress. stupid person i'll call "sales-lady" looks in the computer and says, "i can't tell if it means that it's shipping or arriving on august 8th, but either way you should still have plenty of time before the event." and i said, "are you sure? if it's shipping the 8th, it will arrive in time for alterations?" and she said, "yes. do not worry."
today: i called the store to ask if my dress arrived today or if i should expect it early next week and sales-lady said, "um, it looks like it shipped today so you should expect it in a week to a week and a half." at this moment, i freaked out a bit. i said, "the wedding is in a week and two days. i need to know exactly when it's coming and i was told it would be here in time for alterations." she put me on hold to ask the manager and then asked for my number to call me back. so i began to really freak out.
my mom called to yell at the manager who told her that the dress was SUPPOSED TO ship today but in fact, DID NOT!!! she was still working on finding out where the dress was and when it would arrive and my mom chewed her a new one. soooo, the dress (if it's out of production) will be overnighted to us and if it's not done yet... well, they're supposed to give me an equally beautiful dress to match the custom veil i'm having made. and they still haven't called me back to tell me what the verdict is.

i'm just praying that my dress gets here. and i'm trying not to break into a hysterical mess.
update: so, my dress is still in production at the warehouse. they said it should be done early next week and that i will arrive on friday. they're trying to get it here sooner but they can't promise anything. and the store manager told me she involved her district manager so she could try to get a little more pull. at this rate, i'm not sure there will be time for alterations and i'm incredibly frustrated and stressed out. the manager said she'd call me again on monday with another update. i can't believe they'd promise someone a WEDDING DRESS that they couldn't deliver. i simply don't know what's wrong with them.
