Well, I'm certainly getting in the holiday spirit, but I think we could do without this weather. Why don't we revive an old tradition?

Perhaps, but that is not what they have said about such things. Their duties are to protect. And those whom I know in the guard here are not the sort to relish such a duty, were they required to carry it out.

So you'll happily accept their authority? Some of them could be lying to you, you know. Plenty of people will take positions of power merely to have the chance to exercise that power over others.

I trust those whom I know among the guard. And they would not allow such to happen. If the guard is fair-minded and able to keep order, then yes, I would accept their authority, as I accept the Prince's authority at home.
