Greets all.
The weekend's started off gloriously. I'll admit that sleeping in Ryan's house last night was a tad on the awkward side, but so far today has been fantastic.
We spent most of the day traveling, and reached the Charlotte Marriott City Center at approximately four thirty. We checked in, lazzed around, and then headed down to the convention center to get registered. After a sub-par dinner we ventured about the convention hall and checked out some of the booths.
And we got a ton of free stuff. Good stuff too. Tshirts, Beanies, backpacks, foam ball things, and oh, FRISBIES.
After about an hour or so we went to the ballroom to see Leeland(one of my absolute favorite bands) and Starfield in concert. It was excellent.
Leeland has always been good. Their premier album was a poetic and melodious look at some of the core facets of Christ's character, and I'm prone to wet eyes nearly every time I hear it.
Their ability to lead in adoration was magnified perhaps ten fold. I was awestruck. Tears of The Saints was... I can't even go there. Sorry.
Starfield was great too. They're better known and a little more polished than Leeland, but personally I didn't enjoy them as much. Probably because I don't know any of their songs(a condition I have every intention of rectifying. Soon.)
I can't think of much else to say. This was just the first night, and already the torrent of emotion and jumbled thoughts thats rattled my mind for the past pair of months has begun to, hopefully, come to some kind of resolution. Matt's beaten honesty out of me as he often does, and while I'm slightly unnerved, I'm mildly more at ease.
Thanks.
Pictures!
