My three-month-long quest to surpass my childhood rival/friend's gamerscore is at last drawing to a close. In a stroke of luck(or a freak accident, or maybe just some random thing) the man's Xbox is in for repair, meaning that he won't have it back for about two weeks. Or so. Giving me plenty of time to rack up achievement points in TMNT, Table Tennis, and Bionicle Heroes. Do I feel bad for playing easy games as a means to defeat him? No. Because I've enjoyed them. Would I have rented them without the promise of achievement points? Probably not. Would I have enjoyed them as much if I had rented them? No. But, that's part of what makes the whole achievement system so beautiful - fun from a lack thereof.
Final preparations for the road trip are being made. As of now I've only to confirm that Bryan is coming, and work out my two weeks. I also need to call my aunt, and talk to Chris in HR again to make sure everything is set in stone. It's all wrapped up at the store here, which is good. I'm really, REALLY tired - literally and proverbially - of getting up at five AM. Really tired. I'll be glad to be rid of it.
I am, however, really going to miss the Instock team. Joey, Krystle, Aimee, Rose and Cheryl. They're good people. Some of the other team leads at this store, like Alan and Ebonee are really good too. Hate to leave them. But is it enough to make me stay? Heavens no. I'm still counting the days.
Good things are happening right now, and I'm stoked about it. God is opening a lot of doorways for me, and as frustrating as this year has been so far, I'm really starting to feel like it's about to look up.
Lobstergeddon 2 now has a script and a Myspace. So, thats awesome.
That's all I got for now.
