HYPEMANCHAN! HYPEMANCHAN!

I was very surprised to be presented with an award at this show. It wasn't just any award but it was the Veritas Racing Tru Pick Award. This award represented not the most show worthy car but represented a car and person that best represented the scene in general. Now myself being a judge at the show, I thought that I would automatically be exempt from the show and I'm not in this for awards and accolades. I just love what I do. So I was backstage making sure the award ceremony was going accordingly when Team Veritas announced that the winner for this award was chosen b/c of their committment in furthering the sport compact scene in Canada and the USA, exemplified hard work and passion for the scene. I was taken a back by the award and was truly surprised when they presented me with it. I must say winning a six foot tall trophy is breathtaking. Winning it with my ZuCru there made it that much better. Thank you Tintmasters, Veritas Racing.

My car, award and Kim. I hadn't seen my car in 4 months. Let's just say: GDZILLA is in the house.

Lick it!

Dannie and GDZILLA

After party! I wish I had gotten a shot of Ryan behind the door when the hotel manager came to kick us out. We also made good friends with the biker neighbours...who asked us for some whiskey! Oh and Dannie lost somebody's dog when she let it run outside an open door. Who knew?!?!!? Pictures:

Tijuana Yacht Club Show and Shine Oct.1/2006
This was a show in which I had exactly 14 days to organize from the time we finalized the show. It was done in conjunction with Canad Inns to end off the year's cruising season. With the great help of all the locals we were able to produce a very enthusiast minded show where the focus was on the cars. No judges and all awards were chosen by the attendees. It was a great time and Steph Ly flew in as well!

These guys were instrumental in helping with the show. The show took place in the banquet room of the hotel and to enter the cars in required us to move them down to metal ramps off of a door from the street which was about a 2 foot drop. The ramps were not exactly the right incline for lowere sport compacts so ingress and egress was a pain that day, especially egress. These guys would have the cars drive halfway up to the door and then they would pick up the ramps with the rear end of the cars still on them in order to give the cars a level ground to roll out with. Not an easy task with 40 cars. Think of doing squats for 3000lb cars. Not exactly the most ideal workout. Once again I want to personally thank No Limits as w/out their help we would all surely still be stuck at the banquet halls.

Dannie...YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
