G7Y Un-betaed Part 2

May 08, 2009 07:42

The first half seems to be up as far as Molly and Arthur in bed, as usual. I almost did this as two chapters because it is a lot longer than what I usually write, so maybe that is something else I need advice about. Fingers crossed on formating.

yay - I got to read the whole chapter. You are writing this so well, I love seeing inside Molly's head. I'm still not convinved that Ginny will be a healer but I can go along with how you have written it as it is believable in your world ;)

Hmmmm I wonder what Molly will do to help the muggle-borns. And Charlie and Kathleen are living together now? did I miss something in the last chapter?

Good. I am glad that the cut worked this time. I need help in deciding whether it is too long and which threads are not necessary. St Mag's advice was to write everything and then trim it down.

Actually Molly is living in a dream world about Ginny becoming a Healer but that is what she hopes for her now.

Kathleen went to visit Charlie to do research for the book that her publisher wants her to write about vampires back in June. They live in a cabin at the dragon research facility. Wait until you read what Molly is sending them for Christmas.

Great job! I love your stories, and I have always loved Molly Weasley. That's actually probably pretty obvious from my pen name. ;) Anyway, I love the H/G and R/ Hr moments in this. I of course love Molly. Sturgis Podmore as the DADA teacher is a great idea. I had never thought of that, and it's really good! Also liked the Percy quotes, and Quaffles as UFO's--LOL. Looking forward to St. Margarets' Audrey in future chapters. ;) I love the Arthur/ Molly tender moments as well. This is SO excellently written, and the formatting worked this time, too! :)

Thank you for reading and writing such positive comments. I am still struggling with plots that have some substance to them and a tendency to give too much information. I may identify with Molly too much so am most comfortable reacting as I imagine she would react. Real life is not always enthralling.

I don't write drabbles because I always write in more detail than most people want to read.

Yay! I finally have time to finish this. Love all your details which I will promptly steal! You have created your own little world here and I love how Molly's life is so full of people - her own children and her contemporaries. And of course, Arthur is that wonderful presence - never over-shadowing her but always there with quiet strength.

Yay for blue-eyed baby boys. I really like how you described George in this chapter - that's grief - okay one day - knee-capping pain the next. Poor Molly.

I also like the displaced person angle - lots of possible adventures that way.

Thank you for using some of your free time to read and comment.

I am finding it harder then I thought it would be to keep all the threads of the plot active. Unlike JKR, I am worry quite a bit about keeping the temporal aspect consistent. My plot is projected by dates (which is fairly easy to change). I can't imagine being able to keep all the balls in the air without a calendar.

I did list all the possible characters with names and locations and haven't had to add too many. So far Apple Glorioso, a talk show hostess, is my favorite displaced person. She is a Black cousin who insists on staying in character when she is playing Bellatrix.

Thank you again. I have enjoyed the stories that gabrielladusult has written about George and Padma but decided to 'obey the creator' on her 'bit unhealthy' pairing of George with Angelina. I am not always so accommodating since I tend to be most comfortable overlapping with stmargarets' New Zealand universe. In other words, there are grandchildren not on JKR's 'family tree'.

I am writing the rough draft of April 1999 now, but plan to end the story when Ginny leaves Hogwarts in June 1999.

The September 1998 chapter should be up at Phoenix Song this weekend.
