Oh, hi there world. I didn't see you! Has it really been 7 months? That's absurd. Who am I?
Well. I suppose some true "updating" is in order. March was a tough month. For those who weren't aware, I lost a friend of mine to tragic circumstances. I won't lie, I had a lot of trouble dealing with it. It can still hit me at weird times and moments, but I think that's normal. But, I think I've made peace with it, as best I can.
In June, I moved into the city. I live in a house off of 16th street, for those of you familiar with D.C. It's a beautiful neighborhood and an awesome house. I live there with five other girls who are all extremely cool, including my best friend Caitlin at the moment. I get crazy parking tickets, which is a situation I have to fix ASAP. D.C. doesn't play!
In that vein, Caitlin is moving to Olympia in two weeks! I'm excited for her, but a little bummed for myself.
The exact day my biffles moves to Olympia, my friend Adam moves home from New York. I don't know what the world is trying to tell me or if it's trying to tell me the right thing.
Since my last update, I have been to Boston once more and to NYC. No major trips planned, but I have the itch! Eat, Pray, Love has me wanting to go to Bali!
I generally have been experiencing life explosion (in which I try to pack too many things into too small a time frame) but that's the story of my life. When will I ever learn to have reasonable expectations of my commitments!
I have signed up to teach an English as a Second Language class on a volunteer basis. I'm very excited for this, and a little apprehensive. When I first got into this, I thought it would be a one on one conversation- never have I ever felt the urge to teach, buuuut I'm doing it! I'm excited to be doing some volunteer work though- I haven't really done anything consistent since high school, and I really did love it.
I think that's more or less everything of interest! Not a lot happened in 7 months on my end! How about you guys, eh? OH! I did write a TON of letters though. And I baked four pies. And some lemon squares. And some coffee cake. And some flatbread. I was a baking queen. I need to catch up on LJ posts.
GOODBYE FRIENDS!
