Lauren Sherman's take on the collection: "I can still dress like a kid if I want to." I guess in a sense it's "turnabout is fair play," given how much Western men like to infantilize women. But what kind of grown man wants to look like his mother dressed him for a playground play date (complete with huge valises full of snacks and juice boxes)?
At least this collection has some suits in it, and the silhouettes are pretty workable in an architecturally pure way, even if the color combinations make me uncomfortable personally.
And for just a minute, can we talk about the effects that the short pants have on these models? I'm not even thinking about the pencil capris - though those do look kind of retarded awkward - the looks with the shorts make the models into storks. I guess it's something to go with if you're shorter than 5'7" and don't want to look it, but, returning to my original assessment, who wants to fuck a guy who looks like a gawky pre-teen from an elite private school?
