Somehow I always forget to add a title

TCM's giving a Jimmy Stewart tribute right now. So far I've watched 4 of his movies today, 3 in subsequent order. I'm a little dissapointed that they're not showing Vertigo.
It's one of the best Hitchcock movies and certainly one of Stewart's best. Ah, ce la vie.
I guess I really do have to buy the movie if I'm ever going to want to see it again.
But anyway, sitting here while drinking a sippy cup, I realize that I'm a tad bored (note that this is a friday). Because of that, I will post a list of the movies I really want to see in theatres -hint hint- but most likely won't... and wait till they're released on dvd... since no one ever wants to see these types of movies with me.

Renaissance
I don't know much about the plot, only that it's set in Paris in the year 2054, and that's okay with me. I hear that while it's very pretty to look at, its story isn't so great.

Oh wait, here's the synopsis (courtesy imdb):
In a future version of Paris, a young woman (McCormack) searches for her kidnapped sister, a genetics researcher for the mega-corporation, Avalon. Joining in on the mystery is a a cop (Craig) who has been dispatched by the missing woman's employer, a man who knows the true value of his employee.

That doesn't sound bad. It sort of has a noir feel to it, I think. Like Sin City, but with, hopefully, better acting.

Trailer found here.
Since I think this is only in limited release, I most definately will have to wait till it comes out on DVD.

The Prestige
Synopsis:
Rupert and Alfred are rival magicians. When Alfred performs the ultimate magic trick, Rupert tries desperately to find out the secret to the trick. However, he then begins to realize that it may not be a trick at all.

Okay, you got two of my favorite actors together in one film. This is pretty much a guarantee that I'd be excited. And I'm not just saying it because of X-Men and Batman Begins -although that does help- but because I liked them in their other movies too, even in the ones that sucked (I am looking at you Swordfish and Equilibrium!!).
Wait-a-minute, David Bowie is also in it! Ah, thanks to Zoolander, everytime I think of Bowie I think of "Let's Dance".
Oh yes, did I mention it's about magicians?

Trailer found here.
Now, at first I was a little dissapointed because I thought that the trailer showed everything. But I've heard from people who've read the book that that is not the case. Release date: October 20, 2006

Happy Feet
Synopsis:
Into the world of the Emperor Penguins, who find their soul mates through song, a penguin named Mumble (Wood) is ashamed by the fact that he cannot sing. However, he can tap dance something fierce, but how does this fit into his society?

...Just watch the trailer.

The Fountain
Synopsis:
As a 16th-century conquistador, Tom (Jackman) discovers the Tree of Life. He spends the next 1,000 years searching for a way to save his love, Izzi (Weisz), as he begins to develop an understanding of the mysteries that have plagued him for centuries.

I don't know why this interests me. I think it's because of Hugh Jackman the sci-fi aspect of it.
According to imdb, Brad Pitt was originally supposed to be in this movie but turned it down to star in Troy. Ew...
Speaking of Troy, I don't know why people made a big deal about Pitt's sideway ass (something about buns of steal?) . I mean, he mooned us in Twelve Monkeys. Come to think of it, there was a lot of ass in that movie...Anyway...

Trailer found here.
Actually, it's more of a teaser, but it gets the point across.
Release Date: November 24, 2006

Apocalypto
Synopsis:
As the Maya kingdom faces its decline, the rulers insist the key to prosperity is to build more temples and offer human sacrifices. Jaguar Paw (Rudy Youngblood), a young man chosen for sacrifice, flees the kingdom to avoid his fate.

It looks absolutely beautiful yet oddly unsettling, plus it'll have subtitles (I guess trying to go the authentic route).
Trailer found here.
Oh look who snuck in his own trailer.

Ya know, if his career as a director doesn't work out, he could always try out as a satyr.
Man, I have no idea why he reminds me of one. I will say that that's some crazy beard action going on there.
Release Date: December 8, 2006

Well that concludes my list. It's one of my longer posts too. Hm...
