I want a job, but is working in a place that'll have drunken men (most likely married) flattering you, belly dancing girls...er, belly dancing, and having a wrap for a uniform worth it?
Went looking for a job with June, I dropped my resume off in EB (I want a job there) the theatre and a restaurant which has all the things described from above.
Guess who called back?
A man asked if we were here looking for jobs, we nodded and he led us to the back door (I wish I brought my exacto knife with me, just in case). From there a man appeared before us, dressed like he was in a mafia, mind you, and took us through the kitchen to the tables. June and I were completely freaked because this seemed like a ploy so he could murder us...and take our identities.
He spoke Spanish (not so well but he's Romanian so I'll let that slide) to me and asked if I had guilt. I stammered and said yes, and then no...and then yes again. I couldn't understand him so my uneasyness made it seem like I was a bit shy. Not that I completely am, if I can hit on limo drivers and singing elf men then I, of course, can't be too shy.
He asked if we knew anyone who belly-danced, or could serve drinks. He said that he wanted to be our friend instead of our boss. He said he needed people to trust with his money. He said he didn't want girls who lollygagged and go off with older men to the nightclub across from the restaurant.
And,
he clasped June's hands.
hold out your hands
hold out your hands
I bet he's from the mafia.
So let my emoticon sum up how I felt.
