As a proclaimation of human stupidity, I submit the following:
I am currently employed at , which is a stock registration and transfer company. We handle lots and lots of companies, and sometimes confused (and somewhat stupid) people call up and explain their problems and we pretend to care.
A call I received today rings in my memory due to these few lines:
ME: Hello Ma'am, can I help you?
HER: I never received my stock certificate!
After gathering her information to verify her ownership of the stock...
ME: Alright, in order to mail you the paperwork to re-issue the lost stock certificate, I'm going to need your phone number.
HER: I don't have a phone.
ME: Then what are we talking on?
HER: Hold on, I'll get the number...
The rest of the call was pretty much textbook, except for that lovely little gem of wisdom. My associate Daryl put it best, quote:
Rich people can afford to act dumb
I agree one hojillion percent, Daryl.
