The one thing I had no intention of doing when I started this was writing it in first person present tense again, but I couldn't get it to work in third, nor did the prank section which I wrote first seem to work very well in first person past tense. And I've always wanted to write Remus and Tonks themselves in that way so I thought I'd just brace myself for people thinking it was too like the other one. Which means I'm delighted you thought Sirius' voice was different because I tried to emphasise the loyal friend, as well as the amused observer/narrator of all the goings-on, but having him give Remus a lot of respect along the way. Because I think he does do exactly that in OotP.
I've said in the other replies I didn't really know what to do with Charlie at all, and I ended up thinking about Remus' remark in the hospital wing scene about Tonks deserving someone young and whole. Whereupon it occurred to me that there were possibilities if he actually saw Tonks with someone like that and simply couldn't stand the sight of him! So, yes, I hope Charlie is a bit like an older, wiser, sassier Ron - a decent guy, really, but he's not what Tonks wants. Which hopefully all comes back to what everyone, especially Tonks in the hospital scene, seem to think she deserves, the real One Cool Cookie in all this, and why Sirius actually says it to him out loud at the start. In fact, the only person who doesn't is Remus, lol.
I looked forward to writing his voice the most and he ended up with the smallest part! But I'm very glad that you seem to have read it exactly as I hoped; that he knew what he felt all along but had the noble hatches well and truly buttoned down, while Tonks really didn't at all and so it came as a painful and sudden dawning on her. I debated about switching back to Remus' POV before the get together, simply because Tonks' section was going on and on (much like this;)), but as the controlled one he'd got to be the one to suddenly say ILU and I couldn't think of a way to make it work if you, and he, knew what was coming.
I am thrilled to bits that you liked this so much and thank you very much for the awesome review. It takes a lot of time and effort to write them like that and I really do appreciate it. A lot. :)
