Wishful thinking

Went to University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine Open House today. Sounds enticing. Their curriculum is not based around books and lectures as in more traditional med schools, but more about clinical experiences. They even have special classes that are supposed to improve your communication with patients. For example, you do a physical ( Read more... )

People won't tell bad things about themselves at their own presentations. If you ask about bad things, they'll avoid the question. So, vsyo to zoloto, chto blestit. I keep telling it to my boss who consistently keeps coming from various financial presentations with a buy recommendation... Although, I am glad that you went and liked it, it's better to go and see it for yourself.

Well, I'm gonna go to Philly on Oct. 28. Wanna come along? (If you can take a day off or something...)

Mmmm...UPenn...good memories from there! Last time I was there, we crashed their graduation and got free champagne, so I'm all in support of what that school has to offer! ;)

haha good times :) and of course the picture with Ben. Mr. Franklin was happy to see us.

An' about upenn, people often get really inspired when they see these presenations since that's obviously their intention. Either way though, (at least based on my recent internship apps, etc) it's sooo much easier to achieve things when it's clear you want them- whether intentionally or not, it shows through in your personal statements, application, etc. so just use that excitement :)

Yes, that's true. Unfortunately, I already finished all stages of my UPenn application so I cannot add more through my personal statements or other essays. I can just restlessly wait (or rather not wait, 'cause it's not like i'm a star applicant or minority).

I am so slow on deciding what I want that it usually takes me a couple of years...:) LOL So maybe by 30, I'll definitely know what I want...or not...:)

To Zhazhda: Yay, drinking and partying and mint cigarettes! :)

I want my college years back!!! :) I didn't realize that working 8-9 hours every day would be so tough. In college you can always sleep in and not go to class or whatever. That's it, I have to go to school again.

"Yay, drinking and partying and mint cigarettes!"

I always use my friend's words, Anya, when you start talking about smoking, and I won't hesitate to use them again: "When you kiss a person that smokes, it feels like you are licking an ash-tray". Don't make me mad :)

I'm going back to college with you, An', real world SUCKS! LOL

But seriously though, i'm happy for you to have that fire and want to go after something. So what, even if the presentations are usually too-glossy for their own good, it's still an awesome feeling to have a goal and look forward to achieving it. I hope you get in :)
