So I just read that cat stevens got his ass booted out of the states cause he is on the FBI crazy terrorist list. Read more here:

Just before that, I finished writing a letter of recommendation for one of my TU professors. The chemistry department sent me a letter requesting I voice my opinions, so I sent 2 pages of them. I won’t say who was the party in question, as it’s currently in discussion by the department. It’s a weird feeling though, to have some control over whether someone who taught you what you know gets a promotion. Eh, regardless, I hope he gets it.
Allison has been cooking like mad the last week or so. She is amazing. I can’t walk in the door without her pulling something out of the oven. I don’t know what inspired this current domestic trend, but I appreciate it as my work life has been crazy the last 2 weeks. On that end, I have a bunch of new compadres. I will preface this by saying we are all super-geeky. That’s a given.
-Dan “The Man” -Dan has the coolest laugh. It destroys planets. If my laugh is heheh, his would be something like HA HA HA YHA, YHE HE HE HEgh (often followed by a phrase like, “ya, that was funny”). He is super laid back. I can’t recall where he is from, but he’s a bit older like me. We get along well. He likes the phrase “what’s crackin’” and wearing do-rags.
-Jordan- Few people can express disdain in the fake-plastic-me way. Jordan is among them. Her’s is solidly directed at “californian’s and their little earthquakes” She is from Alaska, also a fan of the do-rag.
-Evan- Surfer Jesus (He went to a Nazarene university). I like Evan. California laid back. Likes lots of little punk bands.
-Ivy-A pchemist like myself who rides that line where we don’t do the normal pchem thing, but instead are on organic side (if that doesn’t make sense, don’t worry about it. It just means we don’t follow the normal courselist, we fall in between). Quiet, except when she goes on tirades about the lab we are teaching (which is often).
-Eric-Makes grown men cry. Seriously. Eric is probably amazing at Madden, and a demon at Halo (I can just tell these things). Almost as hard a worker as Denise. Speaking of…
-Denise-The workaholic of my associates. Homework always done, chapter always read. She will go far, or crash and burn. My bet is the former.
-Amish-a 4th year who has taken a shine to me. Not sure why. Nice guy, knows how to do my homework when I don’t. Works for a guy that does research I can’t stand.
-Wenqing-fresh import from our favorite communist nation. Nice, but her English sucks so I don’t know much about her. Guess I can’t complain, its way better than my Cantonese.
-Joe-From Minnesota. Solid pchem guy. Looking at all the same groups I am, so wouldn’t be surprised if we end up workin together. Was my pal on my first visit here.
-Shervin-Ok, if you got this far in the list, you should read this. Shervin is amazing. I don’t see him enough, because he is all theoretical chem. Few ppl exude intelligence like shervin. Wants to DJ at the school radio station. I know he has the monster manual memorized.
-Hojay-Korean import. Just met him yesterday. I mainly include him because I am certain he would be able to take the entire HoHo (past & present) at StarCraft.
Countless others who I will put in another update.
Whoo. Ok. that was long. No homeless update this week. I’m off to grade homework.
