Secondly, thanks to the guy who posted the 'dictionaryporn' group. This is the kind of reply that was fun to see (an answer to "Do other groups like this already exist?"). I don't actually want to run a community if I can find what I need already on LJ. What I'm looking for is a place for people who dwell on the words we take for granted and see their inner beauty. For example, I remember staring at the "Del" key on a computer keyboard as a kid thinking how beautiful this looked to me at the time (And then I remember how silly the word "Home" looked on the keyboard-- but most people just use words and don't think about if pretty, silly or whatever)...
All this sounds silly to some probably, but every word, just like every other product you use had human creators behind them... Why is the word "For" this word and not some other word? Did someone enjoy her more than "Por" or "Pour"? If so, they made the same call I would have... Words may not be a fancy building or an ornate church in Rome, but they are still human creations and some of us see beauty in them in the same kinds of ways...
My choices below sound 'simple', but that's why I kind of like a community like the one I prototyped... One where you can sort of 'show them off' a bit in their "natural habitat"... I guess I have to take any heckles here (I like what I like), but all of these mean something to me:
La (actually is my favorite thing period)
Jul (month abbreviation; she's just pretty)
capital letter L (I just really enjoy them)
Line
Ren (There's so much strength in this name and how they look in print; This is a word in some languages, by the way...)
Clear (strength and beauty I suppose)
Elaine (just plain lovely in sound/appearance)
Leave (Related to word 'Love'? German 'lieb' may be evidence of a connection? Anyway, just looks beautiful to me...)
Sharon (so much strength in this name)
January/June (so beautiful)
For
Directions (so nice to see this on packaging bags/bottles/cans)
Renee (nice way to finish out Ren)
Julia/Julie/Julienne (just good uses of 'Jul' with a good ending)
Del (these letters just look nice together)
Des (the French word)
I've got plenty more I like, but this seems to be the best starting point...
