So I realize I haven't written a substantial update in this here journal in a long time. I've been twittering and facebook status-updating so some of you know this already but check it:
I've been accepted into the Master of Arts in Graphic Design program at
NESAD. I'm gonna be a grad student

fraterrisus has just gotten involved with roller derby (as a ref, no less) - do you want me to put you in touch? (It would probably be through LJ, as I don't think I have an updated email for him)
And, I'm happy to make a big post on my journal about how you're moving, and see if any of my friends back in Boston have any leads on work, housing, etc. - just let me know if that would be helpful (I don't want to just go posting your plans all over the internet without your permission, that would be creepy)
I'm glad Boston is close enough to Portland for you to be able to commute back for weekends (actually, if you were planning to commute ALL weekends, I bet you could find someone willing to rent a room on weekdays only - I've sometimes seen parents with part-time custody have a room that's available when they aren't caring for their child, for example). I think you're probably right that it will be rough to be away from Colin, but also, you're probably right that it will be long-term worth it. I mean, you'll be learning SO much, plus getting a degree.
In short: congratulations, and let me know if you want me to post that you're looking for housing/work.

I would love if you'd post on your journal that I'm looking for housing & work. I don't want to plan on weekdays-only, because there will probably be times when I have to stay in town to get work done on projects. I'm hoping for a June 1 move-in date, since the summer program starts June 5.
I'd love if you could share the link to my Etsy site, too. I'm going to humbly ask all my friends with blogs to spread this link around: http://MGChains.Etsy.com - if I can start making money there it'll make everything so much easier.

I'll make a post about you right now :). Good luck with housing - I know moving sucks, but if you're willing to do it twice, you might have good luck finding a summer sublet, and then moving some place more permanent in September. (Boston leases mostly run from September to September). There's a also the b0st0n community, which, while full of crazy violent snark, is also full of a lot of knowledge.
