(no subject)
don't seem to have the energy these days to do much other than the essentials, and the more i go, the less essential updating this seems to be. i'll try to keep up with it a bit better. happy belated birthday to sooooooosaaaaaaan aka the brattygoth. congrats, you're all legal and stuff. when are we going out cruising for cowboys?
we put my mom in the hospital last Sunday, a week ago. she went downhill pretty rapidly over the weekend, and early (pre-dawn) sunday morning woke me up. she said she couldn't breathe. at some point she finally decided that we either needed to go somewhere or "let her go" and i'm not quite ready to let her go. so we went, instead, to St Anthony's. i'm so disappointed with that "health" institution that i really can't fully express it. she had infection everywhere, too much for her body to fight off. staph, UTI, bladder. i think it was the staph infection that was probably the worst. but a few days of good, IV-given antibiotics helped her. she got out on Wednesday, and it was only Tuesday night she was finally able to eat anything. they gave her a prescription for these rediculously expensive shots and a nurse had to come out to give them. she's much better and more stable now. able to eat/drink and hold it (and therefore her medications) down. nurse still coming out once or twice a day. so maybe this will finally end this round of illness. its going to take her a long while to recover though, she's been so weak for so long, and i don't know if she'll ever fully be the same again. but i have a lot more confidence that she'll get over this bridge, anyway.
biding my time at work until my week off (5 more days...) i have the h8 for those people. the work itself is a cakewalk, but the people and the situation make me miserable. and after this whole thing with mom, i'm realizing that my lack of insurance could land me up in real trouble if something were to happen to me.
do i know how to cheer up a room or what?
a week from tomorrow is my (21st! ;) ) birthday. thats the week i'm on vacation. i have no idea what i'm doing. so if anyone wants to get together for dinner or a movie or whatever, let me know. i do know that Corpse Bride comes out the Friday after, and i've got to see that.
