Got it!
It's now official. I got my black belt last night.
Had a good number of friends and family show up. Took just about 25 minutes for me to complete everything, and I was pretty wiped by the time we got done. Corwin, my uke (attacking partner), did a pretty good job considering there were several techniques that he hadn't ever done before we started working with him for this demonstration. I only botched two techniques, but I stayed in control and we just did them over. I felt pretty good throughout the demonstration and stopped being nervous about a third of the way into it too.
The throwing line afterwards was nice too. It's tradition that when someone gets promoted, after the demonstration is over, everyone else in the dojo gets to throw that person. Got some good throws from several people (including a nice hip throw from my sister, lady_emerald.
It was recorded, so now I need to get someone to transfer it from tape to DVD. I'd also like to get it put in .mpg format so I can share it on the web.
Now I just need my knee to stop hurting. *grins*
