Mutual Friends

So the Bonekickers slot was filled by the first part of new "comedy drama" Mutual Friends last night. As telly descriptions go, "comedy drama" is the one most calculated to fill me with dread.

... I was prepared to give it a go, 'cos the cast is good, the writers have good form with The Kumars etc and Hat Trick are usually more reliable than not. The BBC Press Office is all the Beeb have by way of web info, which is a bit worrying, but the vibe was Good.

Ack. And indeed, meh. It's not an original idea, but that's not necessarily a problem if you can at least make the feel a bit different. But it's the same old hopeless/immature blokes, but we love 'em vs. faithless, nagging wimmen with all the charm of Ghengis Khan. I'm not grabbed. Being a fair-minded citizen, with sod all else to do of an evening, I'll give it another shot, but so far I miss Bonekickers...
