Anyone who really knows me knows that this is a monumental thing. Why? I've never done it before. What, you might ask would get me to vote when I haven't in the last three elections that I was eligible for...Troy. His birthday was on election day. His one request for a birthday gift was that I vote. He didn't care the least bit who I voted

The voting for the amendments was of much more interest to me than the President thing.
The futility of the situation was what got to me - that and all of the idiots that were voting for completely nonsensical reasons. I guess what bothers me about voting is the same thing that bothers me about bad parents. Any idiot can vote and any idiot can make a baby (I know I know...the right to vote blah, blah, blah).
But it's the idiots in large groups that worry me - and voting tends to bring them all out of the woodwork. My one vote has little power.
At least in the circles you have the ability to "know" who you are voting for...all the people that were trying to convince me that one candidate or another "is a good person" was starting to really irritate me.
I am not proud of not voting...I just don't see the point of it. I think that there should be a lottery to see who votes. That way each vote really means something - like a jury. Otherwise it's not really voicing any thing...it's depressing to know that my vote was canceled out by some uneducated idiot whose vote was influenced by something stupid.
It all comes down to South Park....Douche-bag or Shit Sandwich, either way it sucks and your left trying to pick the lesser of the two evils by what they say they are supporting....
and we'll miss you guys up here for yule!!
Hugs,
Grainne
