Hi everyone,
My dog was recently diagnosed with medial patella luxation. I went to a canine nutritionist, and she recommended that I switch to a grain-free kibble to minimize the amount of pro-inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids in her diet.
I plan to feed a combination of kibble, fresh food, and supplements. The nutritionist recommended some high-protein low-carb premium brands (Orijen or Wellness). The thing is, I realized that those brands are about $2-3/lb, while fresh whole chicken, ground beef, and offal is only a few cents per pound. So I'd rather get a less expensive, if higher carb (but grain free) kibble and just feed a higher proportion of fresh protein. She'll also be getting fish oil, acidophilus, glucosamine, and b-complex vitamins, along with RMBs and fresh protein, so if it isn't the greatest kibble out there, it's okay. What is the cheapest grain-free kibble I can buy? TIA!
