Power: While Rin is a magus and in canon has a variety of abilities, there is one in particular that she specializes in: Transformation of energy. However, it's a little difficult to explain, so hopefully it's alright to provide an excerpt from the first wiki listed in the "Info" section.
"As the Tohsaka’s successor, Rin excels in transformation of energy, which includes storage of Prana in objects. Because the amount of energy a magus can release at one time is restricted by bodily limitations, Rin has been able to accumulate all of the Prana generated by her body during her lifetime through jewel crystallization. As with practicing of sorcery, charging these jewels has become a daily process for her. When Rin's stored power is needed, she can detonate her jewels on contact with an object, resulting in a release of energy equivalent to an attack rank of "A"."
However, as Rin herself will have no other powers herself at Zodion, these objects with stored prana can only be used by other people to increase the effectiveness of their powers. For example, someone with a summon ability would be able to summon more butterflies than usual.
Personality:
There are two sides to Rin Tohsaka: the side the world knows, and the side she keeps to herself.
At school? Rin is known as nothing more than the school's Madonna: beautiful, smart, cold, and distant. She takes no time or effort to acquaint herself with others around, even going as far as to shoot down any who try to get to know her. Rin Tohsaka presents herself as a girl who will not feign modesty, is all business, and most of all better than you. Boys love her (even when she rejects them), and girls hate her--Rin herself seems to have no opinion, leaving herself not much more than a 'beautiful enigma' to public.
In reality? Rin isn't so flawless--after all, everything only looks better at a distance. In truth Rin is clumsy (especially when it matters most), mischievous, easily frustrated, and can barely function her own alarm clock. The only people who get to see this side of her, however, are the people who are able to get close enough, which is to say: no one.
--Well hardly anyone, anyway. When someone is persistent (read: Archer), or is in a position close enough by chance (read: Shirou Emiya), there isn't a choice but to let them in. She's spent her life alone (--spent her life as a magus--) to the point where the thought of company seems to be almost unheard of, and even frightening. She's hesitant to let people in, and terrified of letting them see who she really is with all her flaws. Things do look better from a distance, and Rin herself knows that better than anyone else.
...but sometimes she doesn't mind company--at least, when the spotlight isn't on her. If she can fluster you or rile you up, then maybe being close to you isn't so bad after all. While not overtly-sexual in her daily life, Rin isn't above pressing her breast against a boy's arm to freak him out just so she can get a laugh out of it. But try to have sex with her--no wait, scratch that--sex that means something with her, and she'll revert back to the blushing girl with harsh words that she was when you were trying to get too close.
Sex is simple. It's an act everyone does, and while doing it out of need is somewhat awkward? She's been through worse. But when you add emotions and feeling into the mix? Well, that's something else entirely.
In appearance, Rin looks exactly like her mother, but in personality she is essentially a carbon copy of her father. It's both natural, and because she strives to be like him, in fact, her goals in life are only things he wished her to achieve. When she meets her servant, Archer, he asks her the exact question any servant should:
If you should obtain the holy grail, what will you wish for?
Her answer? Nothing. Not that she'll just give it away or anything, she'll probably just put it away and keep it around until she finds a better use for it (which is exactly what happens in Rin's lighthearted route of Fate/unlimited codes). This initially surprises Archer, but her reasoning is simple: she doesn't need the wish, she already has the world. Obviously this isn't exactly true, because in the bigger picture of the world Rin is just like everyone else--with the exception of her being a magus. What she means by this comment is that she has the power to change her world--as in, everything that directly effects and involves her. Rin is a firm believer that the world ends with you, and that if she wants something to change, she has the power to change it herself. Therefore, Rin Tohsaka has no use for the holy grail.
--But that isn't why she wants it. She wants it because her father wanted it, and she knew that since he father didn't get it, he'd want her to win it. Because of this, she believes she will win the holy grail. From beyond the grave Rin's father's wishes essentially controls her life, not that she minds, though. Her goal in life is to be just like him, and to be everything he wanted her to be--this makes Rin sound like an empty shell controlled by her father's wishes, but that isn't true either. Being a magus is what she considers to be "fun", and if Rin didn't want to live like this, she wouldn't, but she does, and I suppose her father is just lucky in that sense.
