What Pokemon types does the first gym leader specialize in?

He is. I challenged him a couple days after I first got into Violet, and he creamed me. I had to train for a while before I could beat him.

I did the first time. I went in with just a Skarmory, a Kakuna, and a Drifloon. I had to go to Union Cave to catch an Onix to stand a better chance.

Yes I did. There's a long story behind that, though.

I have a Sneasel. It's a Dark/Ice type and she's been fairly good. Thankfully, she's a hard trainer so we get along well.

Alright. I've been here in Cherry Grove, making sure I have the proper team before I move on.
