Chronicle Thirteen- I've seen the light...and it burns!!!

Yesterday I went to the El Rey theatre downtown to see Warriors of Heaven and Earth. I went with Zeke and it was awesome. The story was really good, and I feel it was better than Hero and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; although both of those movies are awesome too. Zeke and I were just surprised and growing tense through the film is was so great.
Afterwards on the drive back Zeke and I discussed Buddhism since he knew more about it than I did and compared Buddha with Jesus. It was good conversation, and it really is a neat thing to understand the same stuff. I mean Jesus and Buddha both reached a state of higher knowledge through pondering, and studying and well just trying to figure stuff out, of course with that extra push from God. He never just people stuff he just leads them in the right direction and helps come to their revelation on their own; at least that's the way I see it. I think it fascinates God when we can figure things out on our own based on just what we know already, what we want to know. I don't know I think both of them are important figures and really kinda taught the same teachings. Sure Buddha didn't have all the powers that Jesus had, but I don't think that really matters. Buddha never put himself at a higher level than other people, he considered himself no God nor savior; simply a man who had come to an understanding to wanted to share wisdom to the world. I like to believe that Jesus was the same way, that he didn't place hisself higher than the regular people; that was equal to them no matter what. After all, how can you help someone if first don't know what is wrong? Angel and Rick get on me when ever I talk about Buddha, I know their joking but it just gets annoying sometimes when they simply can't open their minds, or at least find some similarites. It's like their afriad that if they embrace or even try to understand something different it'll block out what they already know, then again I'm just guessing. Their good friends anyway, and I know their just joking.
I think the one thing I can't agree on is the thought that if someone isn't christian and follow Jesus their doomed. That logic is so wrong, I mean it goes agianst everything. I really don't why that belief even exists, it's like they think Jesus died for that type of reputation or something. I take what he said metaphorically in that it isn't through him persay, but thorugh the message he left. I mean it's the message of God and since when is the messanger counted more important than the message; sure Jesus was the son of God but I don't think he wanted to become the only way cause that would cause strife and it would condemn the rest of his kin; the people he died for. I've heard stuff like Jesus is the only light, and that's okay but it takes more than one lamp to dispese the darkness. The way I see it as long as the person has faith in God, fiath in themselves, and faith in God's message no matter from whose lips it is spoken you'll be okay. As long as your holding on to one of those lamps there will always be light and you'll be fine in the darkenss. If you look at all the different writings, God's message was preached many times over but like any strong message it must be repeated and it had to be repeated in different ways so different people could understand it. God's the door and the message is the key, and as long as one dwells on that message regardless of the tongue it rests paradise awaits. I suppose I'm optomistic, but I just care about everyone else and don't believe condemning other people because their holding a different lamp to help light their way is right, Just, or even moral.
