lemmie tell ya about my week...
monday and tuesday went ok despite being slammed at work. i really needed the hours cause thrusday and friday of last week were bad. real bad.
wednesday is where the hell begins. it all started with this clutch master cyl i had to replace. this is the part that connects to the actual clutch pedal and puts pressure on the fluid in the lines which in turn goes to the clutch slave cyl that then engages your clutch. got it?
to start things off it is a bitch and a half to get to. i had to bend my arms in ways that were not indended. during the entire time i was getting scratched up bad by all the jagged metal that is around that area. so i get it out, but i cant get this clip out. and i really need the clip. it finally comes out, but it was bent to shit.
screw it, no one cares or even knows what i am talking about. long story short i had to pull the damn thing out twice just to get it to work, the part i replaced didnt fix the problem (i didnt diag it eather, but i got stuck with the crappy job) and it took forever to bleed the system of air. oh, and the hood came down on my head about knocking me out. the job payed 0.8 and it took me about 4 hours. fun stuff.
then on thursday the fun really started. i had to do a water pump recall on this 06 civic. no problem, it normally takes about 30 minutes to pull the pump. not this time. as i was getting the last of 5 bolts out of the bottom bolt broke off in the fucking block. normally when this happens we get the weilder guy to come out and work his magic. but his magic FAILED! not only did he break off the last bit of bolt that was sticking outside the block, but he messed up the mating area when the water pump sits as well. this is bad cause you kinda need a really good seal or else you will be leaking coolant all over the place. the car only had 10k miles on it too.
so they were about ready to order a new block for the car. the bolt had been cross threaded from the factory (it was nothing i had doen, just bad luck) so it was going to be warranty. the last shot i had was to drill it out and tap it, but because the block was so messed up it didnt look like it was going to happen.
four hours later after dropping the engine and pulling just about everything off the front end i could start drilling. i fixed it but damn... it took me a day and a half to do something that normally takes about 30 minutes.
even though ive been working non stop, i really havnt flagged shit for hours. i just want the weekend to get here so i can curl up in a ball on the floor of my room and pretend the world doesnt exist for a few days. that or drink a few beers with my homies. eather way, i need a hug.
