so i pretty much forgot that I had a LJ... whoops. The problem is that I have been spoiled by the easy theft of my neighbor's wireless on the laptop, but, she is moving and has shut off her wi-fi. So here I am at the desktop and I scrolled through the "favorites" and saw LJ. woot.

It says I haven't updated in 11 weeks. wow. I just looked at my last few entries. The silkworms are dead. They spun their cocoons and turned into moths... and then they started laying eggs again so I put their box in the dumpster. Let's face it - I ain't no silkworm farm!

I ended my first year of teaching - it was a great first year. crazy enough, I start preparations for next year on Thursday...wtf? summer much? planning meetings for 5 days, then 2 last weeks off, then it's back to the office.

Ben and I packed the car, Donny and Marie included, and drove to the midwest where we GOT MARRIED. Like how i saved that this long into the post?? The wedding was amazing, as was our time in IL. While we were sad to leave, it's also good to be back in Vegas. We're right in the thick of the "monsoon" season, so it has actually been cloudy and really hot/humid since we got back. It stormed for about 15 minutes last night and again today for about the same. The streets flooded, people got in wrecks, kids played in it outside - it was glorious. I love storms anyway, and they're even better in Vegas because everyone goes ape shit over them. It hadn't rained since April 15th-ish here, so after 3+ months of no rain, we needed it. When we got back from IL, Ben's truck was covered in 1/4 inch of dust and the wiper blades had warped into little curls in the heat - we missed the 117 degree heat wave, thank god. It's been about 105 but with 75% humidity... it's hot! Anyway, it was great to see friends and family in IL, but I didn't get to spend as much 'quality time' with some people as I would have liked. I guess they'll just have to come down to Vegas now. Yes, the cats survived the trip. They hated the car, and my cat who lives with my parents hated them, but they are happier than ever to be at home. The drive was rough - going to IL we drove 25 hours straight from Vegas to Des Moines b/c there were literally no hotel rooms available in all of Nebraska - we must have stopped in 15 towns. Then coming back to Vegas, I made reservations along the way, but we got held up in Colorado due to a mudslide, so that sucked. Meh, it's over now.

I guess that's all i've got for now, chumps. I smell brownies cooking...!!!
