Well looking at the local forecast, saturday look like it will be the best day to do something, but it is also the busiest day for us. We have tee ball at 2 p.m. and Kath has a hair cut and her 5th grade get together is that night. Sunday looks like a total wash out. I am sort of disappointed. I really want to keep doing family oriented things on the weekend. I just hope that the weather will be better than forecasted so we can do something outside. If it isn't maybe we can go visit a museum or something that we can all do indoors.
On the writing front, I've been really engrossed in reading
On Writing by Stephen King. it isn't at all what I thought it would be. I figured it would be "if you want to be a good writer follow these rules." It isn't at all like that. I really like the approach that he has taken with the book. Well I have more to say about it when I finish the book.
I'm going to start carrying a journal with me so I can jot down notes, or write when inspiration strikes me. I think I really need to do this. I need to write more, on a daily basis. It is the only way that I'll ever get better at the craft. I have to say thanks to
Mike A. Stackpole. His podcast
The Secrets has been extremely helpful, and his newsletter has been a godsend. I never really studied writing in college, so everything I know is all self taught. His newsletter has shown me many of the problems that most writers make so I can avoid them in the future.
